Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21 July 2026

Short version: Haul works fully without an account — your collection lives on your device. Signing in is optional; if you do, we back up your collection to our server under an anonymous account id so you can restore it on a new device. Either way, we never ask for or store your name or email, and card photos are sent out only to identify the card and are never stored.

What we do — and don’t — collect

Signing in with Apple or Google (optional)

Signing in is optional and only enables cloud backup and sync of your collection. When you sign in, Apple or Google verifies your identity and sends us a signed token, which we use only to derive the anonymous account id described above. Apple’s and Google’s own sign-in systems will see your email as part of that flow (Apple lets you hide it) — but we do not receive or store it. We don’t post anything to your Apple or Google account, and we never see your password.

Price alerts & notifications (optional)

If you set a price alert on a card, we store that alert — the card, your target price, and whether it has already fired — against your account so the daily price check can run on our servers while your phone is closed. Alerts require an account for that reason; they are not tied to a particular device.

To deliver an alert we need a push token: an identifier Apple issues for your device so notifications can reach it. We ask for notification permission only at the moment you create your first alert, never at launch. If you decline, the alert is still saved — we simply can’t send it, and the app says so plainly. We store one push token per account, replace it when you sign in on a different device, and delete it when you sign out or delete your account. A push token cannot be used to identify you outside this app.

The price check runs once a day against that day’s price snapshot, so an alert can reach you up to a day after a price moves. We say this in the app too — we would rather set the expectation than imply we watch the market in real time.

How your information is used

Third parties

To identify cards, photos are processed by third-party AI/vision providers acting on our behalf. Market prices are compiled from public marketplace data. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Data retention & your control

Prices are references, not offers

Prices shown in Haul are recent market reference values from public marketplace data and may be up to 24 hours old. They are not offers to buy or sell, and actual sale prices vary by condition, finish, and demand.

Children

Haul is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. The app does not collect personal information such as your name or email from any user, whether signed in or not.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the “Last updated” date above.
