Short version: Haul keeps your collection on your device. Card photos are sent out only to identify the card and are never stored. There is no account and we don’t ask for your name or email.
What we do — and don’t — collect
Card photos. When you scan a card, the photo is sent to our server and to third-party AI services solely to identify the card. Photos are processed transiently and are not stored by us after identification.
Your collection. The list of cards you scan or add, their finishes, conditions, and cost basis are stored only on your device. We do not upload or keep a copy of your collection.
An anonymous device identifier. We generate a random ID (not tied to your name, Apple ID, or contact info) to enforce the daily free-scan limit and to count basic, aggregate usage events (for example, “a scan happened”). We never attach card names or photos to these events.
No account, no personal profile. Haul has no sign-in and does not collect your name, email, phone number, contacts, location, or advertising identifiers.
How your information is used
To identify the card in a photo and return its details and market reference price.
To enforce free-tier scan limits and understand, in aggregate, which features are used so we can improve the app.
Third parties
To identify cards, photos are processed by third-party AI/vision providers acting on our behalf. Market prices are compiled from public marketplace data. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Data retention & your control
Card photos: not retained after identification.
Your collection: lives on your device. You can erase all of it any time with Settings → Reset collection, or by deleting the app.
Aggregate, anonymous usage counts may be retained to operate and improve the service.
Prices are references, not offers
Prices shown in Haul are recent market reference values from public marketplace data and may be up to 24 hours old. They are not offers to buy or sell, and actual sale prices vary by condition, finish, and demand.
Children
Haul is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. Because there is no account and no personal data collection, the app collects no such information from any user.
